With a focus on strengthening American Airlines global presence, we've recently added more new travel destinations around the world to our network through our oneworld® alliance, codeshare and loyalty program relationships. American now offers you even more access to destinations around the world and services and benefits to make your worldwide travel easier and more rewarding.

More Options Worldwide

American has significantly broadened access to top travel destinations throughout North America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America and the South Pacific — offering you more options to reach new cities. Through our oneworld alliance and other agreements with a number of leading airlines around the world, you have more access to more destinations.

oneworld alliance®

Made up of 13 of the world's leading airlines, the oneworld alliance network extends to almost 900 destinations in over 150 countries around the world. oneworld brings all customers the ability to earn elite qualifying miles on all oneworld flights and provides all customers easier transfers at major airports. In addition, oneworld provides AAdvantage elite status members with benefits recognition on all oneworld flights.

Some recent highlights include:

  • We're excited to welcome Qatar Airways, to the oneworld alliance, opening the door for access to more cities than ever before throughout Europe, India, Asia and Africa
  • Our relationships with British Airways, Iberia Airlines and Japan Airlines provide you more flight options, enhanced schedule options and increased opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles across airlines
  • You can now book Premium Economy fares on flights to London with British Airways and flights to Tokyo with Japan Airlines on aa.com

Codeshare Agreements

American also has codeshare agreements with participating airlines worldwide, bringing you benefits such as one-stop reservations and ticketing, coordinated schedules for easier connections and even the ability to earn AAdvantage miles based on the policies for American Airlines flights on all flights coded with an American flight number - plus many more.

We have expanded a number of agreements and welcomed new ones, including:

  • More flights between Chicago and Hong Kong through the expanded relationship with oneworld member, Cathay Pacific
  • New flights between Dallas/Fort Worth and Sydney with oneworld member, Qantas
  • The new codeshare agreement with oneworld member Malaysia Airlineswill offer our customers more seamless choices to Southeast Asia
  • When flying between the U.S. and Canada, you can now benefit from our codeshare with WestJet Airlines
  • Enjoy access to Fiji through our codeshare with Fiji Airways

Frequent Flyer Agreements

American has frequent flyer agreements with over 25 airlines, allowing customers to earn and redeem AAdvantage miles when traveling to hundreds of destinations around the globe. AAdvantage elite status members receive additional benefits when flying oneworld carriers, such as access to premium check-in desks and lounges. And just this year, we announced elite recognition benefits are now available to AAdvantage elite status members when flying on Alaska Airlines.

More Lounge Access

Not only do our agreements help you reach more destinations as smoothly and seamlessly as possible, but they also open more doors for Admirals Club members, offering you access to more lounges worldwide.
