Reach out to your company’s Travel Manager. They can add you to the account and send you a link to complete registration.

You can only register as a traveler with 1 AAdvantage Business™ account, unless you’re a Primary Cardmember or Authorized User for a Citi® / AAdvantage Business™ Mastercard®. With a Citi® / AAdvantage Business™ or other eligible Citi® / AAdvantage® small business credit card, you can participate as a traveler or Travel Manager with multiple AAdvantage Business™ accounts.

AAdvantage® members can earn Loyalty Points to reach status and Loyalty Point Rewards. For every 1 eligible* AAdvantage® mile you earn, you’ll also earn 1 Loyalty Point toward status. You earn miles and Loyalty Points when you fly, use an AAdvantage® credit card for purchases or engage with AAdvantage® partners.

Within the AAdvantage Business™ program, eligible businesses earn AAdvantage® miles on travel with American, travelers who register can earn additional Loyalty Points when traveling for business. To earn rewards, your business trip must include the business account number and your personal AAdvantage® number. You’ll also need to be registered with your company’s account at time of travel.

AAdvantage® status

*Eligible AAdvantage® miles include all base miles you earn, as well as status bonus and cabin bonus miles you earn from flying.

As a registered traveler, you can book a trip the same way you would normally book a flight with us:

Log in to your AAdvantage® account. Choose the ‘Business’ travel type at booking. Continue booking as normal – your business account number will be automatically added to your trip. Your account Travel Manager may have assigned a company card for use on business trips. You'll find all available payment methods at checkout. Confirm this is a business booking and complete check out.

You can also reach out to your company’s Travel Manager or travel agency to book program travel regardless of your registration. They must include your business account number in the reservation, and we recommend including your personal AAdvantage® number. Details must be included before departure to be considered an eligible trip.

If your Travel Manager has set travel policy rules for your business trips, you’ll find guidelines throughout the business booking path on aa.com and the app. If the trip you want isn’t within guidelines, you’ll still be able to choose the ticket that best fits your travel needs. You’ll be asked to provide an exception reason on the payment page to help your Travel Manager with tracking and reporting.

You can make changes to a program booking the same way you would normally change a trip with us.

Log in to your AAdvantage® account. Go to ‘Manage trips / Check-in’ for a list of your trips. Find the trip and choose 'View / Change.' Choose 'Change trip' to update your booking.

If you booked through an agency, we recommend contacting them directly. If you booked any trips through American, your agency cannot access them.

If you cancel a non-refundable ticket, the value (minus any fees) will be returned to your business account as a Trip Credit. Talk to your Travel Manager for more information.

Travelers must have accepted the invitation from their Travel Manager to join the program. If the invitation expired, you should reach out to your company’s Travel Manager for a new invitation.

Once registered, you can earn additional Loyalty Points on eligible program travel booked anywhere with American, after your company meets certain program criteria. Questions on company eligibility should be discussed with your company’s Travel Manager.

Note that this has no impact on the Loyalty Points you earn through your personal AAdvantage® membership.

Yes, you’re welcome to buy any upgrades on your personal credit card after booking. If you pay for anything extra like upgrades on your trip, your company may see those purchases.

You may also upgrade using miles from your personal AAdvantage® account. Your company cannot see any purchases made with your personal AAdvantage® miles.
