You earn Loyalty Points from eligible transactions made with your AAdvantage® credit card, issued inside the U.S., from March 1, 2024 – February 28, 2025. These Loyalty Points will count toward the 2024 status qualification year, regardless of your credit card statement close date, helping you secure 2025 AAdvantage® status.

For AAdvantage® credit cards issued outside the U.S., Loyalty Point earn counts are based on the date the activity posts to the primary cardmember’s AAdvantage® account. Timing of postings varies by bank.

Loyalty Points and miles

We will post Loyalty Points and miles earned on your March credit card statement to your AAdvantage® account separately to ensure the Loyalty Points applied to the correct AAdvantage® status qualification year.

For example:

If your credit card statement closes on March 5, 2025:

All the Loyalty Points earned from transactions made between February 6 – 28, 2025, count toward your 2025 status. The Loyalty Points earned from transactions made between March 1 – 5, 2025, count toward your 2026 status.

Loyalty Points may take up to 10 weeks to post after your March credit card statement closes.

Your AAdvantage® status

As Loyalty Points are posted, we’ll update your AAdvantage® status if you qualify.

The order and number of postings depend on when you made purchases and your statement's closing date.

Have questions?

On March 1, a new qualification year begins and your Loyalty Points balance reset to zero. You can then earn Loyalty Points toward status and Loyalty Point Rewards from March 1, 2025 – February 28, 2026, for the 2026 AAdvantage® status year.

If you have multiple AAdvantage® credit cards, the same process applies. Miles and Loyalty Points will be posted to your account separately for each card, based on each card’s March statement close date.

Loyalty Points are earned based on the transaction date of your credit card purchases. Changing your statement closing date won’t affect the number of Loyalty Points you earn or how they are calculated, or when they are posted to your account.

If you reach a new status or reward level, you’ll receive an email once Loyalty Points post to your AAdvantage® account.

If you have questions or it has been 10 weeks since your March statement close date and you’re missing Loyalty Points from transactions made on your AAdvantage® credit card, contact AAdvantage® customer service.
