Sporting equipment

We carry a range of sporting equipment, but there are some restrictions so please check before you travel.

We are happy to carry some sporting items, but most items of sporting equipment must be carried in your hold baggage e.g. racquets.

Find out where you should pack your sporting equipment

While there is no additional baggage allowance for sporting equipment, you can save money by paying for extra bags online before you fly.

Any bag that is heavier than the free weight allowance may incur an overweight baggage charge, payable at check-in.

We have partnerships with other airlines to offer you more destinations worldwide, so even if you've booked direct with British Airways, one or more of your flights may be operated by another airline.

To find out more about taking sports equipment on American Airlines, Iberia and Japan Airlines, please use the links on this left hand side of this page. If your flight is operated by another airline, please check the airline's website for more information.

If you've made a booking and are unsure which airline it is with, you can find out in 'Manage My Booking'.
