You earn Loyalty Points from eligible transactions made with your AAdvantage® credit card from March 1, 2025 – Feb. 28, 2026. These Loyalty Points will count toward the 2025 status qualification year, regardless of your credit card statement close date, helping you secure 2026 AAdvantage® status.
For AAdvantage® credit cards issued outside the U.S., Loyalty Point earn counts are based on the activity date of the transaction posted to the primary cardmember’s AAdvantage® account. Timing of postings varies by bank.
We will post AAdvantage® miles and Loyalty Points earned on your March credit card statement to your AAdvantage® account separately to ensure the Loyalty Points are applied to the correct AAdvantage® status qualification year.
For example:
If your credit card statement closes on March 5, 2026:
Loyalty Points may take up to 10 weeks to post after your March credit card statement closes.
As Loyalty Points are posted, we’ll update your AAdvantage® status if you qualify.
On March 1, a new status qualification year begins and your Loyalty Points balance reset to zero. You can then earn Loyalty Points toward status and Loyalty Point Rewards from March 1, 2026 – Feb. 28, 2027, for the 2027 AAdvantage® status year.
If you have multiple AAdvantage® credit cards, the same process applies. Miles and Loyalty Points will be posted to your account separately for each card, based on each card’s March statement close date.
Loyalty Points are earned based on the transaction date of your credit card purchases. Changing your statement closing date won’t affect the number of Loyalty Points you earn or how they're calculated, but it may impact when they’re posted to your AAdvantage® account.
If you reach a new status or reward level, you’ll receive an email once Loyalty Points are posted to your AAdvantage® account.
If you have questions or it has been 10 weeks since your March statement close date and you’re missing Loyalty Points from transactions made on your AAdvantage® credit card, contact AAdvantage® customer service.
Eligible transactions are purchases made by you or an authorized user using an AAdvantage® Mastercard® credit card.
Returns, credits and adjustments do not qualify. Neither do balance transfers, cash advances, account fees, interest or purchases like lottery tickets, gaming chips, traveler’s checks, foreign currency or wire transfers.
Keep in mind: AAdvantage® bonus miles do not earn Loyalty Points.
