Upgrades
Complimentary upgrades and systemwide upgrades into Premium Economy aren’t available now but will be at a later date.
For now, you can upgrade from Main Cabin or Premium Economy to First or Business. For flights within North America, AAdvantage® status members receive complimentary upgrades to Premium Economy at the gate if upgrade-eligible seats are available.
Use Instant Upgrade after you buy your ticket to upgrade into a higher cabin (including Premium Economy) using your AAdvantage® miles or cash, if upgrade-seats are available.
