We’ve partnered with Porter Airlines for service to destinations in Canada. When you book a Porter flight with an American flight number, you can earn AAdvantage® miles and Loyalty Points toward status.
Earn AAdvantage® miles
You'll earn AAdvantage® miles when you fly on American Airlines marketed flights operated by Porter. You’ll also earn Loyalty Points toward AAdvantage® status.
Exception
You can’t earn AAdvantage® miles or earn Loyalty Points on Porter flights that are not marketed by American (flight numbers beginning with ‘PD’).

If you’re flying on an American marketed flight operated by Porter, you can choose your seat on Porter’s website.

Connections in Toronto
American Airlines connections to Porter
Your bag tags should show your final destination in Canada. However, once you arrive in Toronto:
- You must retrieve your bags after clearing Immigration and then clear Customs.
- Take your bags to the designated Porter bag drop area at the Terminal 3 (T3) arrival counter.
- If you don’t have your boarding pass for your Porter flight, go to the check-in line for your boarding pass before dropping off your bags.
Porter connections to American Airlines
If your trip starts in Canada, your bag will be transferred through to your final destination.
