Seasonal baggage limitations

During busy travel seasons, we place limitations on checked baggage and boxes on some flights. From June 1, 2018 – August 19, 2018, and November 15, 2018 – January 13, 2019, there are seasonal limitations.

Seasonal and year-round limitations for checked bags have been updated as of June 18, 2018.

3 complimentary bags on 3-cabin aircraft; 2 on 2-cabin aircraft

Premium Economy

2 complimentary bags (excluding trans-Atlantic tickets issued on or before November 12, 2017 and Hawaii)

Main Cabin

2 bags (charges may apply)

Checked baggage policy

Additional items

Unless other restrictions are in place, you can also bring:

  • 1 carry-on item
  • 1 personal item

Carry-on baggage

You can also travel with:

  • Sports equipment (additional charges may apply)
  • Assistive devices for customers with disabilities
  • Bags weighing 51-70 lbs. (23.1-32 kgs) for an applicable charge

What you can’t bring

When traveling to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central or South America, you will not be able to travel with:

  • Overweight items (more than 70lb/32kgs)
  • Oversized items
  • Excess baggage (only 2 checked bags allowed)
  • Boxes**

**A “box” is any container that isn’t normally used for transporting items for air travel; this includes plastic tubs, containers and coolers.
