Enjoy greater flexibility when planning your next trip. Coming soon, U.S. AAdvantage^® members can use a combination of cash and miles to book domestic U.S. flights on American (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), with more routes to come.

Complimentary upgrades to Premium Economy

Select flights to / from Hawaii and coast to coast

Starting Aug. 25, 2026, status members in the Main Cabin will upgrade to Premium Economy on select flights to / from Hawaii and select transcontinental routes, when eligible seats are available. You’ll still be eligible for an upgrade to Business if:

• You bought a Premium Economy ticket
• Premium Economy isn’t offered on your flight
• You bought an Instant Upgrade to Premium Economy

This update only applies to complimentary upgrades. Systemwide upgrades can still be used to move up from Business to First, or from Main Cabin or Premium Economy to the next class (Business or domestic First).

Upgrade process

For any complimentary upgrade to Premium Economy or Business, we’ll automatically make the request after your flight is ticketed. The rest of the upgrade process remains the same — you’ll continue to be confirmed before departure, based on status.

We'll do our best to accommodate your seating preferences, though options may vary depending on aircraft type and availability. In Premium Economy, some aircraft types include middle seats, so you may be assigned one if other seating options aren't available.

Free high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T is now available on more domestic flights and select international flights — exclusively for AAdvantage^® members. Stay connected in the air on more planes than any other U.S. carrier.

Enjoy this benefit across these fleet types: all single-aisle narrowbody aircraft (A319, A320, A321 and 737), select 787-8 and 787-9 widebody aircraft, and select regional aircraft. Service may not be available on all flights. Additional availability is coming soon.

Gifts for Million Miler℠ members

Later in 2026, celebrate each Million Miler℠ milestone with a gift of your choice. Instead of set rewards, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of options. Depending on the milestone, options include Loyalty Points, gift of AAdvantage^® status, systemwide upgrades, AAdvantage^® bonus miles and more.

Discontinued rewards

As of March 1, 2026, we've removed these rewards:

• The 30% Loyalty Point bonus at the 100K Loyalty Point Reward level
• Bang & Olufsen reward choices at the 250K, 400K, 550K and 750K Loyalty Point Reward levels

Limited-edition centennial luggage tags

Once AAdvantage^® members earn 15,000 Loyalty Points, they can choose a new centennial luggage tag as their reward.

Plus, all AAdvantage^® members who qualify for status starting March 1, 2026 and beyond may claim a limited-edition luggage tag* for our centennial year. This luggage tag will be available on request for all status tiers, from AAdvantage Gold^® to AAdvantage Executive Platinum^® members, as well as Million Miler℠ members.
